Welcome to United Arab Emirates
The United Arab Emirates has become one of the premier tourist destinations within the Middle East. The country has developed rapidly over the last twenty-five years, and it can now offer the tourist a truly international level of service and accommodation.
The country lies at the north-eastern part of the Arabian Peninsular, straddling both the Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. To the south and west it is bordered by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and by the Sultanate of Oman, to the north and west.
Several independent sheikhdoms were incorporated to form the United Arab Emirates in 1971, and the country is now comprised of Seven Emirates (Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Fujeirah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, and Ras Al Khaimah).
The country has a long coastline to the east and west, that are dotted with golden beaches, coral reefs, and over two hundred islands. These coastal features, coupled with the desert and mountain ranges offer unparalleled opportunities for further exploration and excursions.
Dubai is an advanced and internationally orientated modern city that now offers unsurpassed levels of travel and accommodation. The Emirate of Dubai is dedicated to encouraging tourism and travel, with a Government Department established solely for that purpose.
